Title: Outshines my older Braun 7
Review: I have had the Braun 7 for over 3 years and was hesitant to go for the Bare bones Braun 8. The 7 had more features back then including adjustable shave performance( that I actually always kept on high…lol), for Sicilian beard. Well I was pleasantly surprised! The 8, at a much lower noise level actually performed better and with less strokes than the 7 and is very gentle on the skin as was the 7 for me. The 8 did not need the adjustable shave performance feature for the quality it provided certainly surpassed the 7. I locked in the head at a comfortable angle and had a great shave. The shaver body seems very durable and the travel case will protect the foils sufficiently on the road. The design fits well in your hand and if held correctly, has non-slip surface rubber where you need it. Right now this is a good value and I will continue to update as I use it. I highly recommend!

Review: This is an excellent shaver. Having purchased the series 7 twice before, I can clearly say that the series 8 is a far better decision. If you are thinking of the series 7, skip it for the series 8 which does a far better job as a shaver. Slightly more pricy, shaving is far more efficient and at a lower price than the flagship series 9. Many reviews seem to concur with this. Great shave, excellent battery life and included moustache trimmer. My single biggest gripe is no usb charging. It is absurd that such sophisticated shavers still require a dedicated proprietary charger. This means carrying another charger when travelling. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a great shaver with good price.

Title: great razor. no gimmiky 360 swivel head
Review: So far this is the best foil shaver since my old series 7 i had for over 8 years using the old 70s heads that are hard to find. Its battery finally quit and i got a series 6 and then 7 of the newer style they have now. Both of those were major downgrades. This series 8 shaves as good, or better than that old series 7 and is rubberized on the back which makes grip better than the old 7. I like the included charging stand. If you’re trying to decide between thos and current series 7 offerings the 7 is less powerful and the 360 head makes it cut weird and horribly on my neck and around my ears, whereas the 8 here hits both in a few glides on each side to ensure coverage. I compared both with new heads and the 8 wins hands down. Its louder than the 7, but not by enough to matter.

Title: Not as close as a blade, but a great electric razor.
Review: Not as close as a blade. Takes longer to shave for poorer results. From a cost perspective, blades appear cheaper too. You need to replace the head every 6 months.The product quality is 5 stars, just the limit of the electric shaving technology that reduced the star count to 4. Nothing bad with this model or manufacturer.

Title: Does not provide a good shave
Review: What a waste of money. Even new, it did not shave close, except occasionally with a great deal of effort, repeated passes, and “scrubbing” to the point of skin irritation.After eight months of average to light usage, and maintenance as recommended, it works even worse — I can’t get a close shave, no matter what I do. I wish I’d returned it during the guarantee period. Live and learn.
