Title: These are great
Review: I did a lot of research to determine these would be great desktop speakers. I could have gotten higher end audio but not at this price point and cabinet size. The bluetooth connectivity is spot-on consistent, every day. The sound is excellent especially for the price. They look great as well and are high quality. I didn’t get the sub with this on purpose. I will probably get the sub but really, I don’t need it for the sound i need for a working environment. Build quality:Excellent! The wood is beautiful.Remote control:Works perfectly and is easy to control.Bluetooth connectivity:Works flawlessly connecting either phones, tablets, but most importantly, my Lenovo laptop every day without problem.Ease of setup:Was super easy out of the box to setup.

Title: Edifier R1700BTs Active Stereo Speaker set Excellent Sound and Easy to use
Review: Edifier’s stereo speaker set is technology done beautifully. I bought a set of these speakers for my granddaughter’s use in her college dorm room. These are elegantly finished enclosures with perfectly sized drivers individually driven by two amplifiers fed by a signal processor designed to provide the best sound quality possible from this combination of parts. Separate bass and treble controls allow the user to further tweak the sound to perfection. The Bluetooth input is clear and easy to access. It’s also easy to switch to the line level input. I like the fact that there is a subwoofer output to drive deep bass when she moves to larger quarters. I tested the subwoofer channel and drove a Klipsch 150W thumper to completely fill the audio spectrum with gusto. Sounded Fantastic! For now, she has an Audio Technica turntable to play her collection of vinyl. Alternatively, she can connect via Bluetooth from her phone for a wider choice of music. These Edifier beauties are perfect for the present and the future.

Title: Absolutely fantastic speakers for the price
Review: I initially had these speakers paired with my PC for Spotify listening and gaming mainly. They were plugged directly into the motherboard. I also used them with a laptop. They sounded good, but never blew me away. They were always good enough and loud enough but nothing special. Well, let me tell you how things changed dramatically when I paired these speakers with a 32-bit DAC and a Tidal subscription. They came to life. The amount of bass that comes out of them, without adjusting the knob at all, is crazy. It’s full, rich, and warm. The full bodied sound and impact these speakers have now that they are paired with a high quality DAC and high bitrate songs can be breathtaking. Yes, I also paired them with an Edifier sub and just forget it. They’re even more amazing. I can’t stress enough how good these speakers sound for the money when you pair them with high quality audio files and a DAC. Yes, they are good with basic sound outputs, but they truly come to life when you pair them with higher quality hardware and music files. With a subwoofer, you will bring down the house. No joke. I can’t imagine any other speaker set being as good as these for the money. I’m not a huge fan of the looks, as I would prefer all black, but the sound quality is worth it. If you’re thinking about it, I say get them, but keep in mind that they truly won’t come to life without at least a minimum Tidal subscription or other lossless audio streaming. If you can get a good DAC or already have one, then you’re in for a treat.

Title: These really are a great little speaker
Review: I purchased these to go with my Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB Direct-Drive Turntable. I wanted a powered speaker to minimize the equipment I need to listen to vinyl.I strongly considered the Audioengine A5+ And Kanto YU6, however cost was an issue at this time for me. Feeling I may be a bit disappointed given the aforementioned desire, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound these speaker produce.Set up was easy. First record played was The Greatest Showman soundtrack. Sound was very crisp and clear. Heard things in the songs I didn’t notice previously. Highs are a little “tinny” at first but adjusted the treble down a bit to counter. Assume this will “warm up” post break-in period.Bass was ample considering speaker size. One thing anyone looking at this size of speaker needs to remember – this size woofer can only move so much air. However, these do a far better job than other speakers in this size I have heard. My son (14) actually said he was impressed by the bass and overall clarity.Next vinyl was Gun’s & Roses Appetite for Destruction. Again – clear and crisp. Rock music is always a little muddier by nature but again these did the job very well considering what they are and my intended use.Next I selected Bluetooth source to my iPhone and played varying genres from Charlie Puth to Alterbirdge to the 1975. All we’re handled exceedingly well in my opinion.Again, if you are looking for booming bass, you’d want to seek adding a sub component, as these do have a sub out and crossover built in to do so.The model I purchased is the updated model that resolves the Bluetooth issue (not shutting off) and the remote handles switching from phone/line level to Bluetooth, etc very nicely. Volume control and play/pause/skip for Bluetooth all work very nicely.Build quality is very good. They look very good for the price and have some heft whereas you feel you bought something with some quality to it.If you are debating a powered speaker on a budget and have considered these – I wouldn’t hesitate – as long as your expectations are realistic. These have a very nice sound stage and produce a quality “monitor” level sound versus some cheap (or even expensive) Computer speakers. You can always spend more money – that’s easy if you have it (or even if you don’t really sometimes) but the key is finding a product at a price that fulfills your need. I am quite happy with this purchase. I will eventually seek a larger more expensive option as intended – however these meet all of my needs currently and I am very happy with my decision.

Review: These are pretty awesome! I’ve been looking at Edifier products for a while now. This model was a surprise – addition of Bluetooth 5.0 and sub-out was only in higher models, but now it’s in the budget models. The price was just right during Christmas holidays so I went for it.I like:- remote control to turn speakers on / off- light that shows which line the speaker is on- super seamless pairing for Bluetooth- switching between the incoming channels- great sound for a small room. The bass is not super deep, but enough to get play hip-hop (I might buy the woofer later)- design is great and materials are premium- on sale its an amazing deal!I don’t like:- the speakers have specific side assigned (one is left and one is right). It would be nice if you could reverse the sides so you could place the speakers with the controls closer to you. Reversing the line-in cables works, but for Bluetooth it’s still in the wrong order.- would be nice to have the optical line-in- these need sturdier / metal grills – my nephews will poke at these speakers within 5 seconds of seeing them. The grills are material based do the fingers will just go through them and will damage the speakers.- I would reverse the colors on the remote (black text on white background) or make them brighter so you could see the buttons better in the dark- skinnier connector cable between the two speakers?

Review: I have read reviews that applaud these speakers for sound, design, and solidity. By “solidity”, I mean they’re heavy enough to project frequencies, rather than absorb them into the cabinet. And they are rugged enough that you don’t worry if you bang them together when unpacking them. Don’t run them over with the car but you’ll see. They’re sturdy. And they do well in the mids and the upper-mid frequency range. Don’t get me wrong. They do a fair job on the lows and you could mix a P-bass if you listen carefully. But, to offer a real world example, if you check out the song “Gaia” (James Taylor, Hourglass), there’s an interlude where the level dips a few dBs, then rebounds with an added low-end thrust. You won’t hear that as the producer intended on the Edifier. Nor on the same album if you go to to the song “Look up from Your Life” (which is good advice), you’ll hear on the second or third chorus James Taylor pleading the words in the title. And Jimmy Johnson unleashes an un-Holy rumble you can feel coming up through the floor. Well, these speakers don’t do full justice to those whole notes but otherwise what you get is good clarity, almost pristine sound. You won’t expect this quality for this sort of money. To be honest, I’d recommend finding an extra $50. If you’re lucky you can buy a second-hand Yamaha subwoofer and you won’t regret it. If you go this route, note that the Edifier studio monitor includes a special circuit that instructs the subwoofer to contribute only that portion of the frequency spectrum missed by the Edifiers left and right. But if money is tight you’ll be pleased with these monitors. They are quality items. My previous speakers cost twice as much ten years ago and I consider the Edifiers an upgrade. Recommended. Tbw

Review: These are my first set of quality speakers, and I am absolutely thrilled with the purchase. The sound clarity is incredible—I can distinctly hear all the different instruments in a song. It’s like rediscovering my favorite tracks as I pick up new sounds I hadn’t noticed before.
