Title: Worth the money
Review: I LOVE these lights. They’re kind of pricy, so I waited for the Prime Day sales, but man was it worth it. I love all of the different settings for the lights. We have had them up for about a year and I haven’t explored all the customization, but we love what we’ve discovered. The app is pretty easy to understand. They were a little time consuming to install, but my husband was able to do it all on his own in a weekend, and we have a pretty large house with a lot of peaks and changes in the roof. It’s so fun to be able to change the scene for any holiday. They have held up great over the past year through all of the different weather changes of the Midwest, and the colors are so bright and vibrant! I was worried that they would look tacky being up all year, but you really don’t notice them unless you know they’re there.

Title: A super fun way to light up your house year round
Review: Thsea are such cool lights. I bought these last summer with the hope of installing them before Christmas. In the past I have always had to climb onto my roof to install Christmas lights. It was such a chore, and like medium dangerous. Well long story short I broke my leg in October (luckily not falling off of the roof) and did not get a chance to install these until earlier this year, and man I missed out last Christmas!The installations process does take some time but is very straightforward as long as you plan ahead. The adhesive pads stick extremely well to our vinyl soffits and haven’t shown any signs of budging all summer… a very hot humid summer so far. I love that the kit came with splices and jumpers to make it easier to install segments in all sorts of roof configurations, granted we didn’t need any of that since we have a very simple ranch style house, but I could see it being invaluable for some.The application to control the lights does have a bit of a learning curve, but it didn’t take me too long to figure out how to design custom scenes and schedules after a bit of fiddling around with it. You can literally go light by light if you want and set everything manually or there are a bunch of fun pre-installed scenes available as well.Overall the whole kit feels extremely high quality and I expect it should last a very long time. Currently it has only been a few months, but I will definitely update this review in the future if necessary. Everyone loved our 4th of July red white and blue lights, but I can’t wait for Halloween and Christmas! All I know is I am probably going to be buying a lot more Govee products in the future.

Title: Awesome lighting for the entire year
Review: Going on 1 1/2 years now with these. The app works great! I get lots of compliments! The lights stuck to the house very well! Love the American Flag theme I created in the App. I created a house lighting mode for the rest of the year when there is no holidays. I even bought a second set for my koi pond in the back. I control both sets with one app. Love it!

Title: Versatile Product Needs more customization
Review: Installed the product about a month ago. Very sharp and versatile product that will wow your neighbors. I have had multiple comments already. Compared to a lot of the other LED lights Govee’s app is second to none. They have taken a lot of the feedback from prior customers and improved upon the product in the latest version. Really like the product, everytime I come home I switch to a new theme within the app. It takes about 10 seconds to switch and keeps the lighting fresh for any occasion.Like: The brightness and overall ease to install these are a big benefit. You can’t just jump up and complete them but Govee is correct with enough planning you can install these pretty easy. Just take your time and you’ll have less to worry about in the future. The App is really strong compared to competitors. It is extremely easy to use and now that there is a sharing and DIY function there will at some point be tons of different light schemes for all occasions. I actually enjoy the AI feature a lot although i think it has some iterations to go through before it is stronger. Love the overall theme of lights and liked the cleanness.Dislike: Splicing (While much easier than previous versions) still needs much improvement. Would be great to have a cheap tool in there to strip the wire easier. My wire stripper was not small enough for the tiny wires. The middle cord (Yellow) was absolutely tiny, it was almost impossible to get a consistent connection after splicing everything on the middle wire as it was smaller than the other 2.Pucks don’t stick that well. Will be less work YOY to stick them back in, but 3M are not really sticking up withe weather in the middle of the country.Future Improvements for Company: Would love to see iteration 3 or 4 come out the door in the next couple years. I think the company is close dominating the market with their lights, but I do some improvements listed below:Find a better alternative than 3M for your adhesive. Not strong enough in all environments. 1 Month in used all the videos for advise and have had 6 pucks already fall. I will probably find alternatives to keep them in place, but was weakest point of product.Wires were too small to strip and were a bit of a nightmare still. Would like to see slightly bigger wires easier for splicing. Would also be nice to obtain some sort of stripping object in package made for the wires. (Awesome idea for stripping though was necessary to make the product user friendly — Best add on with the pro version)Would be nice to have some sort of mapping tool or double use with the AI to advise how much product a user needs to light their house. With the stripping and extension cords was a little hard to plan if I needed 100ft or 150 ft.The lights are rated IP67 which is great should work in most conditions, however, the power backup is not. I ended up purchasing a box to store the box in, but the power adapter is not made for laying on the ground in snow or rain. This doesn’t make sense for outdoor product at all.Lastly, sell your extension cords in more lengths and on your store. They are extremely helpful for cleanness and all of your buyers that are purchasing these expensive lights want to do good work. (Buyers beware after certain extension length the extension cords will start to drop lighting through your display) you don’t want more than 15 to 20 ft extension at any one point or you might have issues.Tips for first time buyers: Do your homework. Yes these stay for longer but you have to do the math right and you need to figure out a way to do this seamlessly across your house from left to right. There is very little wiggle room to make jumps. These need to be put up in warmer weather like the 50s or above or the 3M stickies do not work well. Watch 5 to 10 videos on putting it together, there is great help out there that can assist. Plan a full day for installation and take your time. Measure 10 times before ordering, I was sketchy on 100ft, barely made it, but probably should’ve done 150 ft to get the last peek. Lastly, once you’ve set your product for a couple weeks find the weak pucks that fall and set them really well by locking them into place. I ended up stapling some sections to keep them up.

Title: Fun lites for all the holidays!
Review: These are going to be so much fun to change the colors for every holiday. And no more paying someone each year to put up our holiday lites. Our electrician was able to connect extra “jumps” so there wasn’t odd wires of lites just hanging off corners. There’s so many choices of set color patterns to choose from but also fun to create your own. And I love being able to dim the lites so they’re not too garish. I just unveiled our inaugural 4th of July lites that I programmed.

Review: Do your research to find the best install method for your home. Take the time to clean the surface if using the sticky pads, purchase extra clips to support sticky pads, take your time to install properly. The time you put into planning the install will be worth it. We are using in Canada, cold temps during winter, so far no issues. Installed Lights in Aug while temperatures were warmer. They are easy to use, and if you want to take the time to learn to program cool effects, join a group chat and learn, it’s endless the amount you can do with these lights. Very happy with our purchase.

Review: I love these lights. Had them for about 6 months now. Installed in canada, in December on probably the worst night of the year (cold and damp with a light drizzle and some snow) but that’s when I had time and had a buddy available to help. Used a heat gun to heat up the soffit and the tape as well as brake clean on the soffit to clean it. They went up great and not a single light has fallen off. I originally was really worried about the double sided tape but seems to be holding up. I used them for a beautiful Christmas display, as well as a new year’s and Easter display. Between holidays we have them set to only have a few lights on in key places to simulate potlights and could not be happier. So far so go!

Review: Lights came well packaged. I laid them all out in the house and tested and measured everything before mounting them. Quality seems good but I bought the extra warranty anyway. The kit had splicing ends and 3 good extensions that came in handy. Mounted them up at 10cm from the house (to the light body). This seems to be a good distance to get the effect on the wall.The kit could use more of the flat wire mounts. We ran short and bought some cable mounts from Home Depot.I really like the look and the effects. The app could use some fine tuning and the on/off timer is out to lunch.Hey Govee, I saw on Etsy some guys 3D printing mounting brackets for the “Pro” lights. You guys should be selling your own version. I would buy them.I really am impressed with the end result and I might buy some more….Update: 2 months of use. Some light colors are now dim. Working with Govee to fix. Communication is very difficult.Update: Feb 2025 – Govee sent me a new controller, no charge. The problem is fixed. Working good.I have asked them if I may purchase a spare controller……

Review: Looking great, but my 12ft extention quit working 3 days after I bought it and set it up.Don’t want to return the entire thing for a 10 dollar cord, also easy for me to do it as I’m mechanically inclined and not afraid of heights. Edit: they sent me new extentions, which I ended up just using a 30ft 18guage to hide all the cords anyways, and only used one new one for the relay in it.also I used clip in 3D printed frames so super easy to install without them falling off, should be included for the price of this unit.I’ll get the cord figured out, as I’ll likely end up making my own extention with 18 guage wire and the included connectors, I’ll swap out the grommets on the connectors to make it work.Overall not bad, but kinda a PITA especially if you don’t do much electrical work.
