Mothers and babies are at the heart of all we do. As a mom, I wanted our goods to reflect my enthusiasm for keeping babies’ well-being.

How did we get our start?

I started babywearing when my first child was a few days old because it was the only way to keep her content and happy. I was never very happy with the products I used so I started making wraps and slings when my second child was born because I could not find a sling or wrap that was made from the right fabric. They were either too stretchy, too stiff or too hot. I also couldn’t find any designs I liked.

What makes our products unique?

Our slings and wraps are specially woven for babywearing, the fabrics will not stretch over time, and they hold the baby firmly in place but have just the right amount of give so they are easy to put on and comfortable to wear. They are all individually handwoven and hand-dyed with plant-based dyes. Also, all of our fabrics are made from 100% natural fibers, so they are all very breathable, comfortable, and lightweight.

Why do we love what we do?

I am very passionate about babywearing and I strongly believe in the benefits!

When a baby can see the world from where their parents do (rather than from far below, like in a stroller) their senses are stimulated and their attention is engaged all while feeling safe and secure. Not only does this extra stimulation benefit brain development but the baby quickly develops a sense of security and trust when carried close in a baby wrap or sling. Babywearing is good for cognitive and social development of the child according to some studies.

Hip Baby Wrap is a small women-owned business in Miami Florida. Our wraps and slings are all individually handmade in cooperatives under fair trade practices in India. Our business supports communities small villages and helps provide jobs for mothers and families to be able to work out of their homes. All of our products are made with non-toxic dyes, locally sourced high-grade cotton and electricity-free manufacturing.

Title: Cute, soft, easy to use
Review: I lost my old ring sling and bought this as a replacement. I love them as a quick way to be hands free with the babe, especially in settings where I might need to take her out of the carrier frequently. There is a little bit of slip with this fabric. It’s not any better or worse than my old ringsling (unknown brand). I think a little bit of slip is just par for the course with this type of baby carrier and can be mitigated with constant awareness. I ordered the stormy thinking it was shades of brown and it is way more blue than I expected, but still really cute. The fabric is soft and comfortable on my shoulder and the baby likes being carried in it.

Title: Nursing friendly and for squish or toddler
Review: Material is very soft great quality. Not too thick I live in Texas it’s too hot for moby type wrap outdoors. This is very quick easy to put on take off. Baby can still sleep while taking it off until other wraps. Nursing friendly was a huge plus for me as mom of 4 I’m always on the go. Very easy to wear and when wearing correctly very comfortable.

Title: Perfect old fashioned ring sling
Review: This is just what I was looking for. Years ago I used Maya Wrap ring sling and loved it. With our newest baby I thought I would enjoy Maya wrap again, but I ended up hating it. The problem was the new padded shoulder. It just never say right on my shoulder. I love how with this ring sling it doesn’t come with the padding and im able to flair the shoulder part to cup my shoulder and help the sling support the baby better. Love the fabric too! It’s light weight but sturdy, easy to clean and is a great color! Will definitely recommend to my friends!

Review: I wish it had some stretch to it. It is very nice looking but it just wasn’t for me the way it sat on my body was not comfortable. It put some tension in my hips and back.

Title: Safe Secure Stunning
Review: I have tried 3 different brands of slings and this is my favorite. I feel like it’s very easy to adjust and to keep tight and secure so I know my baby is safe in her wrap while I’m chasing my other kids around. Also, the color is stunning I get so many compliments on it.

Review: I have had a lot of baby carriers over the last 24 years of Mommying … this by far has become a favorite! It is sooooo soft and easy to use. The fabric is light so I don’t feel like I am carrying around a lot of extra weight either.
