Title: Huawei still makes the best smartwatch – best battery life – best sleep and health tracking
Review: I used my GT 2 smartwatch with an android and iOS phone as my daily driver for a little over 2 years. I loved it. It was easily the best smartwatch I’ve used. It still worked just fine up until recently, when I ended up damaging it through hot water exposure (using in a hot tub and the gasket must’ve finally failed).Thankfully, Huawei’s GT 3 was just released so I decided to purchase it (spent a day revisiting the Apple Watch but the battery life on their $750+ model still was only at ~36 hours which is unacceptable for a smartwatch, Samsung’s watches are just as bad).As for the design of the watch, the removal of the bottom watch scroll wheel was a welcome choice as I’ve seen other GT 2 watches lose theirs from hitting the bottom on a railing or wall. The watch is fairly similar though for the most part as far as build quality and design goes. The watch uses fully wireless charging though now so you don’t have to worry about the metal charging ports rusting or not connecting to the charger anymore. This was a lovely change. The battery performs about the same as the GT 2 though some of the new features such as continuous temperature tracking do eat up the battery life. I have to charge it every 5-7 days on average which for me is perfect (I charged my GT 2 about every 7 days). Granted I don’t have an always on display but for me this is mainly a fitness tracker and notification checker. For those interested in a smartwatch that replaces your phone you’ll need to seek out one of the other smartwatches from the major US brands that dies in ~16 hours.Returning to one of the issues with this watch, regarding the Huawei data collection and trade disputes currently going on, you must choose which intelligence agency you want harvesting your data. Do you want a domestic intelligence agency archiving your personal data or would you prefer a foreign intelligence agency archiving your personal data? For me the choice seems obvious. The unfortunate aspect of this pressure from American megacorporations on competitive foreign megacorporations is that the abilities on the iOS Huawei Health app and the watch itself are severely restricted. Some of the customized watchfaces that Huawei phone users have access to or music playback features are completely unavailable to U.S. Huawei users (and other Five Eyes Intel nation-state users). With the charged economic and political climate in the US this watch may be further restricted or eventually banned so bear that in mind.Still, with all of the uncertainty around Huawei products working in the US and the restricted features, it’s still one of if not the best smartwatch on the market (the only other near competitor is the Apple Watch Ultra for the ECG tracking accuracy and slightly improved battery life).

Title: One of the best Apple Watch alternatives out there
Review: I have an iPhone, and lately it seems like Wear OS watches just won’t work with iPhone. There’s no app to make them work, even if you connect them to Bluetooth (I’ve tried the Merge app side loaded to a Pixel Watch, but it doesn’t yet work). I also tried a Galaxy Watch 6 with no luck. I don’t like the way Apple Watches look, and they are expensive! This watch, on the other hand, has a bigger and brighter display than the Pixel Watch. Plus the battery life is unreal for an always-on display watch – I can get 4 days out of it easily. It charges quickly. I can get all my notifications, phone calls can be answered on the watch itself. It doesn’t run WearOS, so you are stuck with the apps it has on it, as well as the watch faces, but there are many attractive watch faces. Not as customizable as if I were using it with an Android, but still a good iPhone companion nonetheless.

Title: Long battery life N sleep data
Review: I upgraded from a fitbit charge 4 to this watch. Setup took a bit longer because huawei is a china brand. A bit challenging but it works. I was a bit disappointed I wasn’t able to use the wallet pay. But i really like how I can use the watch to take /answer calls and find my phone. Which I wasn’t able to do so with charge4. The battery lasted for 1 week. The sleep data analysis is more detailed. I can tell how efficient my sleep is. It has a bigger clock face and makes reading time and messages much clearer. Overall I enjoy the extra features on this watch vs charge4. It’s a keeper!

Title: Awesome watch
Review: It looks great and is accurate in all aspects. Battery life is less than claimed but I use it full on. With aod during 2 hr swim, gps at least an hour a day, spo and other metrics 24/7 I’m still get three days. (I talked to Huawei and that’s normal. ) The 10 day+ battery is if you just use it as a smartwatch. Screen is clear and hr moniters during swimming. I haven’t discovered all the functions yet but this is the solid , good looking, well built, reliable smartchwatch I was looking for.

Title: This device is not supported in the US
Review: I was looking forward to using this watch since it had many great reviews and I was using another health monitor from Huawei. Unfortunately, there is no way to use this device in the US, since Google and Apple banned the brand from their app stores. You could scan the provided from the Huawei QR code but it will lead you to an empty store with no app because Huawei on their site excluded the USA as a supported region. I contacted Amazon to ask them why this item is sold in the US, and they apologized and told me to return it. So my review is to save your time and focus on another device.

Title: Fantastic Smart Watch, Even in the US
Review: I love this watch. It is a bit of a hassle registering it in the US, but worth jumping through the hoops. Register it in the UK and not Canada. For whatever reason when registering it in Canada it doesn’t allow downloading new watch faces from the internet and you will be stuck with what comes stock. Registering in the UK fixed that. The battery life on this watch is insane! We’re talking 10+ days with all the features on. Suck on that Apple Watch! Heart tracking is super accurate for a smart watch. Not to mention it just looks nice on the wrist.

Title: Not what I thought
Review: I had high hopes for this watch but soon realized it wasn’t what I was expecting. The device is beautiful and booted up quickly. The display is very clear and colorful. It was smooth when transition from screen to screen. And thats it. Had to side load apps just to get it to work. There was no option to respond back to messages with typing, only pre-written responses. Couldn’t take calls from watch or play music. Returned

Review: So i paid £119.99 which is a steal for what your getting, I went for this after about a week looking at reviews online and in here and it has a very good reviews, this is my 5th day with the watch and I’ve used it loads setting it up and just getting familiar with it and my battery is at 82% which is crazy also the pictures people put up don’t do it any justice as the watch has a stunning screen very bright and colourful and looks better in real life it’s so clear, there is nothing it can’t do apart from making you a cup of tea it’s and i hate this word but it’s awesome.

Review: I recently upgraded from the GT2 to the GT3 watch. This watch is just great especially for all the running and cycling that I do, it’s so accurate. The battery life is great, I can go 1-2 weeks without charging it. Even good at measuring your sleep. A lot better and cheaper than apple and Samsung. You don’t need a huawei phone to be compatible, just download the app from huawei and away you go. You can also buy any strap design you want and change them to suit your needs. I highly recommend this watch.

Review: Unboxing was nice, as the watch looked and felt really high quality. That’s what I award the * for. After that, pretty much the whole experience was bad. Setup instruction are absolutely useless – one sentence in tiny font.Watch literally won’t do anything until paired. So, you have to load the Huawei Health app, then add the device, which fails because the app needs updating. It downloads a new APK file and you are expected to set your phone up to allow installation of phones from other sources – so the new version does not come from the play store, and so is not tested for malware. After installing this new version, it still failed to pair, as it consistently failed to download the “resource pack”.So, the Huawei software on a Huawei phone, can’t pair with a Huawei watch. Useless. Wasted 2 hours of my time on this and finally sent it back. Shame, as the watch seems really nice.Off to look at Samsung instead.

Review: This is a seriously good watch – if you are really into fitness training/running, the training guidance is great the amount of activities you can track is super and the battery life if great compared to the likes of OS Wear or Apple watch. The apps for oxygen, heart and sleep tracking are all good too. Now comes the bits that aren’t so great. If you do not have a Huawei phone you need to download the health app via an apk then you have to provide loads of permissions. If you are worried about privacy – that could be an issue. The watch and app work well together providing the permissions are all given and that takes time. You can now reply to messages with a small keyboard or there are quick replies, but you can’t talk to the watch in the way you can with Wear OS or Sri. The voice assistant on the watch will only work with a Hauwei phone and there is no NFC or WiFi on this model – I didn’t have an issue with the WiFi not being there but I do like paying with Google Pay or Samsung Pay from my wrist.however, if you only use the watch for fitness and rely on your phone for replying to messages and using the watch to merely read them then this is a super purchase – I would recommend this just for the battery if you are not fussed with all the bells and whistles.Confession, even though I thoroughly enjoyed using the watch and its fantastic battery, well……………….its just not that smart, if you want the ability to respond to a text or message by voice I would suggest the Samsung Watch4 or Ticwatch Pro Ultra for android and the Apple watch for ios. Forgot to mention the bluetooth calling works well and if you use android you can transfer music in a round about way. Final point whilst there is an app store on the watch – there are not many apps due to the USA banning Huawei from Google. I think Huawei will get better and better and they will bring smarter features and apps like Spotify and Strava in the fullness of time. However, for the cost of the watch I prefer a little more charging with more functionality. Hey but you do you and if you are in the Huawei eco system its a very good compliment to go with your other devices.
