Title: Love it!
Review: Amazing watch that is feature packed. IMO much better that Apple or Android watch with bc it’s built for tracking fitness and has many tests build in like VO2MAX, as well as excellent sleep tracking. Paired with a Polar H10 heart rate monitor you have the best way of tracking your workouts. On top of all the features the battery seems to last for a full week without charging. That just my experience but even it it was 4 days that would be 4x better than any smart watch out thereHighly recommend!

Title: HR sensor might as well be a random number generator
Review: I used a vantage m2 for ~3 years, though I was underwhelmed my the heart rate sensor. Told myself I’d buy a garmin next time around, but the venu 4 tech is 1.5 years old, so I figured I’d give the m3 and polar one more try since they were bragging about their new sensor tech. It arrived yesterday and I’m already returning it because the heart rate sensor is so inaccurate. Examples from my 30 hours:-did a 1 hour weight lifting session at the gym earlier today. After a really hard set (gasping for air, struggling to lock out the weight, all that), the vantage m3 reported that my heart rate climbed from 105 to ~125 before quickly dropping back down to 110. Touching my neck, there’s no way my pulse didn’t stay above 150 for at least 3 minutes. My heart was jackhammering.-I took a walk with my family this evening. At the top of a steep hill, it said my heart rate was 75. A few minutes later it jumped to 115. I hadn’t moved the device on my wrist.-after I got home from the walk and sat down, I watched my heart rate drop from ~80 down to 50, remain at 50 for maybe 45 seconds, and then climb back up to 80 (all over the course of 2-3 minutes during which I didn’t move the device or myself)I don’t know what this thing is doing. I place it flat along my arm (not on my wrist bone or anything), but it just doesn’t work. It jumps around randomly for no reason.

Title: Takes some getting used to, as there are SO many features.
Review: First, I am reviewing from the perspective of someone who has not recently owned a sport watch of this caliber. Weighing in at 1.9 oz. (56 g), it’s almost twice the weight of the slim Fitbit I’ve been using for the last 5-6 years. However, I have gotten used to it, and it’s comfortable. The watch itself is 1 3/4” in diameter, and the actual usable face is 1 5/16” in diameter. There are way too many features to list here, but everything needed to know is in the Polar Flow app, which has extremely detailed and comprehensive information on how the features work and how to use them. With that said, the watch can be totally overwhelming in its features. Much like just about any tech these days, one really has to decide which features they really want/need, and focus on those. You can always change things around and add/change things in the future. The watch has considerable ability to tailor the “views” and the elements of each view to the personal needs. Choices are almost endless in how you can personalize your views. Many of the features that you absolutely won’t use can be discarded so they are not a distraction. Some of the features that I really like are Weather, Activity Goal, Current heart rate, Weekly stats, and Sleep monitor. Now, as far as the Sleep monitor goes, my previous slim sport watch from Fitbit, although not a competitive model to be certain, had better and easier to read and understand sleep tracking. Mainly, somehow the Fitbit watch was better able to know when I was awake, even if my arm wasn’t constantly moving, than the Polar. In the Polar User Manual it even says that it may not be accurate on awake time if your arm isn’t moving. I’m not sure how the Fitbit did it, but I know for a fact that it was quite accurate. But, the Polar is acceptable. I like the feature that allows one to connect a wireless Polar chest strap for heart rate. While it seems like the watch itself is pretty accurate, you are supposed to pull the watch up a finger’s width from your wrist bone when starting activities to get a more accurate HR. I know from experience that not doing that will definitely yield inaccurate and inconsistent HR readings. The ability to use an external HR strap is a nice-to-have feature. You can also set the watch to send HR signal to an external device, in my case, a Nordic Track rowing machine. Works quite well. The watch, set up as it comes from the factory, is quite functional and relatively easy to use, right out of the box. Several apps, like Sleep and Cardio Load status take some time to develop readings as they are dependent on aggregate info over time. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters, so it’s a true Multi-sport watch. The face, when lit up, is quite bright and clear. It’s not the brightest I’ve seen, but it is definitely adequate and is readable in bright sunlight. It has almost zero lag upon wrist tilt to light up the face. I do wish the Sleep function was a little easier to gain value from, and I’m not crazy about the band; it’s quite “fidgety” to put on, but I’m getting used to it. I understand that Polar has an older model with a band that is much more ergonomic that will fit the M3. I’ll look into that.In summary, and relative to price and purely my perspective, I give the Polar Vantage M3 four stars. I’m very happy with this watch and am proudly wearing it even though I thought I’d never replace my slim Fitbit with a full-feature Multi-Sport watch. That’s saying something.

Title: Good at what it does
Review: Fairly comfortable watch, though feels slightly large to me. Good if you like a little chunkier watch. Tons of features so there’s a bit of a learning curve but there’s an equal amount of functionality once you start digging into it. Haven’t had any issues wearing it regularly under normal conditions. It’s definitely a pricey watch and more focused on what it does than other options, but if being outside and exercising are your overwhelming uses for it then this is a viable option.
