Title: Easy to mount, solid wood shelves
Review: I’ve been buying this brand of shelf for years now, I swear by them! I have them in our bathroom and over desks as well. The two main ‘pros’ for me?1.) Solid wood — these are indeed solid wood shelves, and quite thick. They have a lovely color to them as well, similar to the ‘acorn’ wood from higher-end furniture brands2.) Ease of installation — most hanging shelves like these come with a kit with two seperate posts. In my opinion, those are far more difficult to get correct than the Batoda hardware, which is a solid metal bar upon which the mounting pegs are fixed. This means they have basically premeasured everything for you- you just need a levelling bar to get them even.Tips to install more easily:- purchase a stud finder- use a leveller- screw in ALL the holes (necessary even with a stud, especially if you want to put books on these)

Title: Tips for installation
Review: I just finished installing these floating shelves; beautiful acacia wood and a sturdy mounting system. Very good value for the money but don’t expect perfection at this price. Here’s some installation tips you might find useful. The metal mounting brackets fit in the recess at the back of the shelves perfectly one way but are a bit tight the other so rotate them 180 degrees until they slide easily into the recesses. The shelf may not sit exactly flush against the wall if you’ve got one or both of the brackets oriented the tight way, and by then it’s too late because of how the screw holes are set up. Once the brackets are in the shelves properly, choose which side of the shelf you want to be most visible (one surface will always have a better grain than the other). KEEP THAT ORIENTATION for the brackets and shelves throughout your process for marking the drill holes on the tape and moving the tape to the wall (per the mounting instructions in the product video). While the tape is still on the back of the shelf for marking your drill holes, also mark the tape to indicate the top of the shelf for when you move the tape to the wall. This will ensure the surface of the shelf that you chose to show will be facing where you want. Good luck everyone 😉

Title: Drywall anchors unusably bad, shelf tips A LOT
Review: Should have listened to other reviewers. I was careful with first drywall anchor, and it was ok, but the next one broke off and had to be drilled out, and because I don’t learn, a third one stripped the head out and also had to be removed. Finally I got the point and got my own anchors out, and all was well – but don’t expect to be able to use the provided hardware. Also, and even worse, since it’s not a solvable issue – the shelf mount is welded at an angle. If I had installed the shelf mount right-side up that I received (lock screws to bottom) – it would have been tipped downward away from the wall. Because I needed this project done ASAP I chose to keep the item, and installed it upside down so it has a tilt TOWARDS the wall – looks slightly funny and has exposed screws on top, but they can be painted, and it’s better than a shelf that just dumps stuff off. There were some minor defects in the paint, and although it advertises ‘real wood’ – be advised, this is not like a piece of wood from a tree – it’s pressed together leftovers of real wood… I know this because I drilled a cable hole through it. Decided not to install the second one I had planned to use, and that made the price extra steep for a single crappy shelf. Definitely not recommended. Find something else, if you don’t want to be frustrated and annoyed.

Review: As others have mentioned, the cutout on the rear of the shelves is extremely tight on the brackets. However, this is easily remedied with a little planing and sanding. These are made from solid wood and the brackets are thick powder coated steel. If you’re skilled at woodworking, the needed work is inconsequential, especially given that you get solid wood for the price of MDF. My only real gripe is that mine showed up with only one bag of set screws (each bag of hardware was still sealed so the set screws were absent from the factory) but they’re just basic black #14 x 3/8” wood screws, 6c each at the local big box hardware store. Anyway with a little finishing and some mineral oil I mounted these to a butcher block acacia countertop slab from home depot (their “golden teak” finish is a near perfect match for the shelves) to make a display for our eyeglasses that matches our CB2 bedroom furniture and it turned out pretty nice.

Review: Item delivered is lacking in basic aspects, and damaged. Both shelves are chipped and cracked on different sides and along edges. Filler sawdust and wax are inserted in those areas. Shelf width is 145 mm/5.75 inches, and not 6 inches, as listed in item description. Wood is NOT acacia. Appears to be Indian rosewood/sheesham. Pre-installed brackets are poorly finished. Look at image. Brackets appear fixed, not removable. Missing screws and missing plastic wall plugs. Brown paper wrapping is partially stained with a foul smelling chemical. No Batoda brand name anywhere on the item or on the packaging. Unbranded cardboard box is badly stained on the outside. One star off for damage to wood and poorly finished metal. One star off for wrong width. One star off for smelly chemical substance on brown paper wrapping. I’ve initiated a return request. Will update the review IF the item is picked up and the refund is initiated.

Review: These shelves are amazing value and solid, however, one of the shelves was missing the tiny holes underneath that prevents the shelf from being pulled out when fastened. Yes, I checked both sides. I had to figure out the measurements and pilot the wholes myself with a drill. Even so, I would but them again because the wood and hardware is solid.
