A: Most stained glass is different from ordinary glass because it isn’t pure in color. Usually, the colors are mixed together, and the color stripes inside the glass are very real and natural. Moreover, the stained glass is different in color when the light with different color temperatures filters the glass sheet.
Q: Why does Tiffany glass feel/sound like plastic even though it is glass?
A: The lampshade is made using the copper foil technique. So each glass piece is wrapped tightly by using copper foil tape. Afterward, The wrapped glass piece is welded with tin solder. As a result, the glass can’t vibrate and make a sound like glass.
However, if you gently tap the lampshade with a metal piece, such as a fork, you can feel the glass tone better. If you hold the lampshade, you will notice the difference in temperature and weight between glass and plastic.

Step 4: Soldering
The edges of the glass piece need to be soldered together for a firm hold.

Review: This lamp is beautiful. Well made, sturdy, creative owl design night light as well as a standthat subtlely reminds us of a tree.The little owl makes one smile. Although a bit pricy, the quality is excellent. We love having the foot switch. One negative review made us roll our eyes. She slammed the company because of difficulty in unpacking the lamp. Remember, a Tiffany style GLASS lamp shade and owl would be easily broken.. She should have hired a handy man to assemble it instead of rating the company for packing it so securely. My husband is capable of assembling and disassembling anything and he understood why it was very securely packed to protect it. However he gave it a 4 due to the flying styrofoam which makes our living room look like a smow storm. Fortunately our cleaning service comes tomorrow. We highly recommend this beautiful lamp. Just be aware that the packing is serious. Be patient!

Review: very happy with this purchase. The lamp is very sturdy and heavy and the dome is large, well-made, and absolutely gorgeous. I love the owl I was able to put this together by myself. it took me a while to decide whether to purchase this because it is expensive but now that I have it I’m happy I did. This will be something I’ll leave to my daughter someday it’s just gorgeous pictures don’t do it justice. I love this lamp.

Review: I asked the company via amazon’s messages about a warranty. Amazon’s services did not offer their usual choice of Asurion. The rep for the company said a warranty would be in the box; but, a warranty did not come in the box. I called Amazon. They tried to get a voice contact with both the company and the maker but could not get an answer on the phone. They do not offer an extended warranty. It is a lovely lamp and appears to be well made. Since it is a floor lamp and costs a great deal of money, it would be good to have an offer of an extended warranty.

Title: Beautiful Lamp!
Review: This lamp is BEAUTIFUL. Easy to assemble and if you take it out of the box right it’s easy to get out of the styrofoam. Make sure the base is at the bottom of the box, cut away the tape and lift the top of the styrofoam and pull the shade up by the bag. I had minimal styrofoam and it was easy to unpackage. This lamp is absolutely worth the money.
