Title: Great buy for the price!
Review: Not as easy as other reviewers have reported. Make sure your smart tv has the latest software update; connect exactly as directed. After watching a YouTube video & using a google search I finally was able to get this soundbar connected.Sound is very good at high volume , great bass from subwoofer. Great value for the money & has worked very well since initial frustration with connection.

Title: Pretty Good for Full Price, Great for Amazon Warehouse Price
Review: I looked at a lesser version of this at Costco that wasn’t much cheaper and didn’t get very good reviews. This item was a little more expensive, but had great reviews. When there was an open box unit available at Amazon Warehouse for less than half of the regular price, I ordered it immediately. Set up was pretty easy, though the open box unit was missing the optical cable that was supposed to be included. Once it was all hooked up and the setting changed within the TV, it worked just fine. It turns on/off when the TV does, and the regular volume controls for the TV remote control it as well. After the initial setup, I haven’t needed the included remote control. The sound is certainly an upgrade from the regular TV speakers, and the bass can thump pretty hard when asked to. Does it sound as good as a higher end unit, of course not, but it’s fine for daily use in our family room. Two little gripes. The volume is slow to respond…it takes holding the volume button down for a bit to get it have any noticeable change in the volume. Also, there is some weird “feature” that if the volume is pressed too many times in a row quickly, the volume will go up to max or min (depending) all on its own…which can be deafening. I should probably read the manual about this… Anyway, for the warehouse price, I’m thrilled with this purchase.

Title: Amazing sound
Review: I set this up in 10 minutes without any issues. Bass sounds amazing, sound bar is vivid and clear, and such an easy set up. Instant gratification. This replaced an older Sony model that had a bad sub, and I am not looking back.

Title: Worth every penny
Review: I originally bought a TCL sound bar that didn’t work out so well, I decided to spend a bit more and get this one. My dad has a Sony sound bar and sub for a few years now . It’s the model below this one and he’s never had a problem with it. This sound bar does offer Bluetooth but I decided to run an optical connection instead. I have it connected to my BenQ Ht 3550 projector that doesn’t have the ARC HDMI. The optical input works just fine. I love the remote because it allows you to play with different sounds and it also allows you to adjust the bass which is very nice also. I think it sounds great and would fit a rather large living room as mine does. I can’t turn it up all the way . It does get very loud and the bass thumps . I do have a Klipsch 9.1 but it’s in storage and this is much easier to set up and take down when I’m ready to change.

Title: I would steer clear of this product.
Review: Sony looses its reputation with me after 15 years of preferring their products. The software running this sound bar is based on windows 8.1 and is out of support. Sony no longer offers updates and any issues will not be addressed. As well, you cannot update online. You need a usb drive and have to move the sound bar from its mounting or placement to get to the back of it and install the one and only “out of date” update available from the Sony website.That said, the unit performs poorly because it turns off randomly during use. If connected using eARC, it turns off your TV too….right in the middle of shows, movies, whenever. Solutions offered by Sony blame this on hdmi cables and power problems, but addressing these do not fix the problem. New hdmi cables fail and a fiber optic cable performs better because only the sound bar goes off. This may seem like a minor issue, but is very annoying especially during intense times in shows and movies because the mood is lost. It then takes a few seconds to turn off before it can be manually turned on again. Sometimes this happens once a day, and other times it happens multiple times an hour.I thought matching a tv and sound bar brand would be a perfect setup, but further research using a reputable ratings organization online showed that there are better and cheaper sound bar options available. Think twice before choosing this product.

Title: Living room turned home theater
Review: I love this sound bar. I have it hooked up to a Sony tv using an HDMI ARC cable and the compatibility is amazing. One of the things I looked for in a sound bar is clear audios, especially for movies that the music overpowers the dialogue. There are times where it feels like the sound is a little cheap but I want to blame that more on what I’m watching/playing. Otherwise, the sound is so crisp my neighbors could watch my TV from my window and still hear everything if I have it loud enough. I’ve only had an issue with connectivity once but it was an easy fix once you get to know the system; a short nuisance if anything. I barely use the remote control since I control everything from my TV remote, but I do find it nice that I can use the sound bar remote to adjust the bass. I did get the speaker on sale, but I feel like it’s been worth every penny so far.
